GP Locums – earn €115k per year (48 weeks) working only 24 hours per week: 2 weekend sessions and 3 midweek sessions will generate an income of €115k per year. 
You can increase your earnings t0 €140k per year by working 2 red eye sessions per month.

Important Notice for Doctors

All doctors are required to provide copies of their Medical Indemnity, Medical Council Registration, Vocational Training Certificate; references from 2 GPs with whom you have worked in the past year, colour copy of your passport. All new applicants must complete a Garda Vetting Application for MedSource, or provide a police clearance form from your country of origin.

All locum GPs must fulfil specific criteria prior to approval to work for Medsource:

  • Completed a recognised Vocational Training Scheme in General Practice OR
  • Have a minimum 6 months experience working in General Practice in Ireland (or similar health system) AND have a minimum 2 years experience working in appropriate hospital positions following internships. This must be across a variety of specialties and include as a minimum: 4-6 months Medicine AND 4-6 months Paediatrics, PLUS any combination of 3-6 months in Obs & Gynae / Psychiatry / Emergency Medicine (A+E) / Surgery and other suitable hospital posts.
